A mid week holiday
Labour day they say
but there's no working
Not today
Too many things to do
Take kids to school
Get out on the bike
Ride for my life
put as much in before noon
then meeting the wife
Late Lunch at Buddha's Belly
Overlooking the army base
shoveling Thai food into our face
Driving to School to pick up the kids
giving them fizz
take them to Piano class
say goodbye and shop for dinner
pick up the eldest from his Korean class
play in the park
come home and they ask upstairs girl to play
its a frenzy outside until its getting quite dark
so inside they run, chase, construct and draw
She leaves and we all sit down for dinner
Bib Bim Bap and bulgogi, but the wine is the winner
Its time for the kids shower and dragging actually
first to the bathroom, then out of the shower
they hate the thought but love the reality
the youngest decides the time is right to dress like a ancient soldier
stabs me in the side with his sword and looks for his mother
They're in bed and asleep
its eerily quiet
except for the phone
and the its kakao whistle
and the rabbit in his cage
giving it the odd rustle.
